Re: Test 2
I think that everything that we have learned that was not tested on the midterm will be on test 2 plus probably drawing lewis structures. (outlines 3 and 4)

Re: Test 2
I feel like definitely VESPR models like the practice we did today in class drawing the lewis structure, calculating the angles and determining the shape would be on there. So I would say study 3F (since we did not cover it in the midterm) and 2E-F.

Re: Test 2
3F and latter sections from the Chemical Bonds Outline, and all the sections from the Molecular Shape and Structure Outlines will appear on the test.

Re: Test 2
I am also wondering because my discussion is on Tuesday, and he said we will still be doing shape on Friday. I am not sure what will be covered Monday, so I am assuming all the intermolecular forces plus lewis structures and shape. Also, I would look out for practice problems from TAs.

Re: Test 2
I believe Test 2 will cover all the topics that Lavelle has lectured on since the first lecture after our midterm.

Re: Test 2
The midterm covered all material up until Focus 2D in the Chemical Bonds outline, so the next topic should be 2E which is molecular shape.

I believe the first lecture after the midterm on last Friday went in further detail in regards to principles of chemical bonding, more specifically induced dipole-induced dipole bonding and hydrogen bonding.

Re: Test 2
Test 2 will probably cover material after the midterm, including VSEPR, bond dipole moments, and intermolecular interactions.

From what I've heard, Test 2 will cover material up until Friday's lecture. Based on this, questions on Test 2 can appear from any material up until VSEPR. This includes, but is not limited to:
1. Review of high school chemistry
2. Quantum
3. Chemical Bonds
4. Molecular Shape and Structure
If you have more questions, I would definitely refer to the outlines on Dr. Lavelle's website.

Re: Test 2
It should cover material after the midterm (plus the very last slide he did before the midterm about the different interactions). So I believe that would be last Friday's lecture, today's lecture, and probably this Friday's lecture (I'm not sure about next Monday's). Topics would include dipoles, interactions, molecular shape (as he mentioned we just need to know the 2-D Lewis Structures, the name of the shape, as well as probably the angles and whether it's polar or nonpolar).

I feel like he wouldn't have everything we learned so far in the test just because it's a short test and we have already been tested on Fundamentals, Quantum, and Chemical Bonds. I think it's just concepts we learned after the midterm so more focused on Molecular Shape and Structure but I'm going to ask my TA just to make sure.

I believe that we will only be tested on what we have learned after the midterm, not the stuff before it.
