Do we have to know hybridization for test 2?

I think we do.

We haven't gone over hybridization yet, so I would not expect it to be on the test. However, Professor Lavelle did say that he has one more page of information (which he will be going over in Monday's lecture) that will also be included on the test.

I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure Professor Lavelle said in class today that hybridization will not be on the test.

Yes Lavelle said that hybridization will not be in test #2. He mentioned this in class.

Unless on Monday Dr. Lavelle teaches hybridization, I don't think it will show up on test two. He said for test two it will be everything between the midterm up until Monday (which I believe he will teach sigma and pi bonds).

What are other topics other than the VSEPR models we should know for test two? or is only that?

Only if hybridization is also on the one page of notes he has left to teach us on Monday

These are a few of the topics my TA mentioned we should know for Test 2: hydrogen bonding, molecular shape, bond angles, dipole moments, polarity/non-polarity.

I thought I heard Lavelle state in lecture that there will not be any hybridization on Test 2. Did anyone else hear the same or did I hear it wrong?

Though it's part of the learning outcomes on the syllabus, hybridization won't be on Test 2. He'll take 5 minutes of next lecture to go over sigma and pi bonds which will be the last thing we have to know for Test 2. I assume we'll just continue on with hybridization after the test.

If I remember correctly, hybridization will not be on Test 2. The test covers material from the midterm on. The lecture on Monday, about sigma and pi bonds, will be on the test.

We do not have to know hybridization for Test 2 (as stated by Dr. Lavelle in class). However, pi and sigma bonds will be on Test 2, for which Dr. Lavelle will cover those topics in class on Monday. Essentially, Test 2 will cover all the material covered in class up until Monday after the midterm exam.
