How do you determine the direction in which a dipole moment points?

I do it by looking at which atom is more electronegative. The arrow points at whichever atom is more electronegative because it pulls on the electrons more.

The atom points in the direction of the more electronegative atom.

The arrow points to the atom that pulls electrons towards itself, so the most electronegative one.
