ie: tetrahedral or trigonal pyramidal

By molecular geometry since only the positions of atoms are used to name the shape. In the case of SF4 in lecture, the 5 regions of electron density form a trigonal bipyramidal shape (includes the 4 bond pairs and the lone pair), but since only 4 of these regions are occupied by atoms and atoms determine the shape, the molecule would form the shape of "see saw".

We name things according to molecular geometry because electron geometry takes into account lone pairs. We don't take lone pairs into account while writing the structure, just to find out how to minimize repulsion.
