When writing a VSEPR model, does it matter what resonance structure you use from a molecule, since the bonds could be in different locations?

I don't think it matters which resonance structure you use since bonds don't really matter when making the structure in 3D.

On a related note, resonance structures basically mean that the molecule exists in a structure that is a mix of all the possible structures right?

It does not matter which resonance structure you use as bond order does not matter in determining VSEPR shape, only number of bonding regions

I don't believe it matters, as long as the number of regions of electron density is accurate

the resonance structure does not matter since double and single bonds are both considered one electron density.

With the VSEPR model, you treat single bonds and double bonds as the same. Thus, it doesn't matter which resonance structure you use.
