What are the differences between molecular geometry and molecular shape?

Molecular geometry is the 3-D arrangement of the atoms in a molecule, including the general shape of the molecule as well as bond lengths and bond angles.

Molecular geometry is how the lone pair(s) and bond pair(s) are arranged around the central atom and the shape is the molecular structure that doesn't include the lone pair(s) on the central atom.

The geometry of a molecule only looks at the number of electron dense areas. However, when looking at the shape you take into account how the lone pairs around the central atom will affect the overall three-dimensional shape because they cause elctron repulsion.
