Multiple central atoms

For the test, are we expected to figure out the molecular geometry of molecules with more than one central atom?

Molecular geometry is off of one central atom, so you can have molecules with more than one "central atom", but the geometry would be for one atom as the center. For example, if you have CH3OCH3, the molecular geometry would be bent as O is the center of the entire atom. You could say that each C has a tetrahedral shape, but that information wouldn't be useful in determining wether or not that molecule is polar.

As a running rule, is it safe to determine bond angles by looking at single central molecules and determine polarity by looking at the whole molecule?
