What are the names of the geometries that we must know?
Is there a chart that lavelle goes by in terms of naming the molecular geometry? Just because I know of AX2E being v-shaped but apparently lavelle goes by classifying it as "bent" geometry. Is there a chart in the textbook he goes by?
Re: What are the names of the geometries that we must know?
I'm pretty sure the following shapes are the ones we need to know:
linear
trigonal planar
bent
tetrahedral
trigonal pyramid
bent
trigonal bipyramid
seasaw
t-shape
octahedral
square pyramid
square planar
Pro-tip, if you google "VSEPR Chart" on Google Images you can find a really helpful chart that draws out all these shapes in terms of the number of orbitals and lone pairs the given electron has.

We accept AX2E described as bent or v-shaped.

Multiple VSEPR charts have been posted on Chemistry Community.
