Do we need to know the pentagonal bipyramidal model for Test 2?
It's mentioned in the textbook in the VSEPR chapter, but I don't recall Lavelle ever going over that model in class.

I was also confused on this because it was in the textbook but not mentioned in class. Just to be on the safe side, I think we should know what pentagonal bipyramidal is incase it comes up on the test or final!

I do not think that this is one of the main ones that we need to know. I am not 100% sure tho so dont go by my word completely just to be safe.

Based off the common vsper charts that I have viewed I would say no but it never hurts to know anyway!

After asking my TA and also taking the test, I can confidently say that no, we won't need to know it. Hope this helps!

I don't think you need to know pentagonal bipyramid because its not THAT common, but its nice to know more VSEPR shapes!

I think it would be good to know for the future, regardless if we need to know it now.
