Sigma and Pi Bonds

Will we be asked to differentiate between sigma and pi bonds when given a molecule with a double or triple bond? Meaning will we have to know exactly what type a particular bond is? If so, how do we go about solving for this?

I'm not sure if we need to know exactly which bond in a double or triple bond is sigma or pi, but I'd suggest memorizing the patterns of sigma and pi bonds. So,
Single Bond = 1 sigma bond
Double Bond = 1 sigma bond + 1 pi bond
Triple Bond = 1 sigma bond + 2 pi bonds

Just as the person above me said, I think we should just know the patterns for the different bonds given the type of bond (single/double/triple)!

We will most likely need to know the patterns stated above for the final. When differentiating I usually just remember that anything with more than a single bond, means there is an additional pi bond.
