IS the bond angle for square pyramidal 90 degrees or less than 90 degrees?

The bond angles for square pyramidals are less than 90 degrees and less than 180 degrees.

Remember that a lone pair will always affect the bonding angles - it has more repulsion compared to a bonded atom. Therefor, it will push the angles closer ie square pyramidal will be slightly less that 90.
