Do we need to know the molecular geometries pentagonal pyramidal and hexagonal planar for this course?

As far as I know, no. I haven't seen them in any of the content in the course.

Hello! So I am assuming the Dr. Lavelle only wants us to know the shapes provided to us in lecture as well as the textbook. Going further into naming shapes may be something for Chem 14B or 14C but for now I am pretty sure that we focus on the ones given and use that to prepare for the final. Hope this helps.
