Heyyy, how do we know the bond angles of the different shapes?

Heyyyy, they are listed on VSEPR charts and just have to be memorized.

hi! We have to memorize them! However, we have to understand a little bit of the reasoning behind it. For example, in a linear shape, we have two bonds. The farthest the two atoms can be from each other so their electrons' energy of repulsion reaches the lowest number is if we put them 180º distant from each other.

Hi! These are listed if you look up VSEPR model charts with bond angles. This is something we just need to memorize.

Hello! As the other responses said, you'd have to memorize the angles. However, when it comes to the molecular geometry of molecules involving lone pairs, you would just use some general statement. Like for bent structures, the bond angles are <120.

I think it's something you have to memorize, look up the VSEPR model charts and go from there!

Unfortunately, It's something that we have to memorize but looking up VSEPR model charts on google images there's some really good one that they provide.

Sadly, its just something that needs to be memorized. I would recommend just searching up a VSEPR table and taking a look at each shape and their respective angle.

We have to memorize them, but to make it easier, just know that the names correspond with the shape. For example, the prefix "tetra" means four, so we know that there's a central atom located at the center with four substituents

We just have to memorize the bond angles pretty much, there's not really any other way around it.
