Memorization Tricks

These were horrible for me to remember in high school. Does anyone have any tricks or mnemonic devices for memorizing hybridization? I'd like to start early on these since historically, I had so much trouble with them. Thank you!

Does anyone have any tricks for memorizing conversion units? I'm so bad at converting and always forget to convert certain numbers and get them mixed up!

Hi! For the units, my high school chem teacher said it would help if you think about it like a stair case. This way, you know which way to move your decimal. I attached a photo of the "metric stairs" to this comment.

Another good acronym is Kings Hate Dragons Because Dragons Can't Make Money for Kilo, Hecto, Deca, Base, Deci, Centi, Milli, and Micro.

for memorizing hybridization like s p d f orbitals I set them up in columns from 1s to 7s 2p to 7p 3d to 7d and 4f to 7f and go across and at an angle for which ones come after one another so you know to fill the 4s before the 3d and others like it except for the exceptions at the 3d^5 and 10

The mnemonic device that has always stuck with me is Kittens Hate Dogs But Do Chase Mice. Learned it in middle school, and for some reason have never forgotten it.

My high school chemistry teacher taught us "King Henry died by drinking chocolate milk", so pretty similar to what everyone else has been suggesting.

Wait to return to the original question, does anyone have tips for remembering the exceptions (like 3d^10 and 3d^5)? I think I'm still confused about those. Thanks!
