### Hybridized orbitals

Can someone please explain how the one s orbital and one p orbital creates the 2sp hybridized orbitals?

You do not need to know the specific details but just know that the one s and three p orbitals would mix to form four sp orbitals. The reason we know this is because a AX4 molecule (central atom with four attachments) has a tetrahedral shape, which means that the hybridized orbitals are equal in electron density and other factors.
