Hybridization of large molecules

To obtain the hybridization of a large molecule like caffeine for example, C8H10N4O2, you just look at the central atoms right?

When there is more than one central atom in a molecule the hybridization of each central atom is matched to the shape at that atom predicted by VSEPR

I believe you will only have to look at the regions of electron density for the atom asked for. For example, they might ask for the hybridization of a certain carbon in caffeine.
