How do you find the hybridization of the neighboring atoms?

I found this website super helpful!

Based on the number of atoms bonded to the central atom and the number of lone pairs, the hybridization can be sp^3 if 4, sp^2 if 3, sp if 2.

Hope this helps :)

TL;DR version: VSEPR and Lewis structures, compare domains and kinds of bonds and from there determine your hybridizations. :) (Dr. Lavelle covered this in lecture today.)
