How do double and triple bonds work with hybridization?

I'm pretty sure the pi bonds in double and triple bonds aren't hybridized.

Hybridization depends on the number of regions of electron density so double and triple bonds would count as a single region.

they do not hybridize in pi double or triple bonds

The hybridization depends on the number of electron density regions around the central atom so having a single versus double versus triple bond won't really affect the hybridization for the central atom.

hybridization only takes into account areas of electron density not the strength of bonds (double or triple) therefore they have no effect
