Hybridization

I am a bit confused on the rules of hybridization. Do we have to fill up all of 2s before we move onto p?

When there's only one s, yes. Otherwise, it fills in in order (e.g. sp2)

yes because electrons like to be in the lowest energy state possible so they would fill up lower shells first.
