Hybridization of 2p and 2p2

Postby Ashley Lopez 3J » Thu Dec 17, 2020 2:12 am

What exactly is 2p^2? I saw it on my lecture notes and I am unsure about what that means? Is that a different energy level than 2p or what exactly is it taking into account?

I believe it refers to the orbitals being filled with two electrons.

their energy levels are the same it's just how many electrons are being filled in the orbitals.
