Can someone please explain what the difference is between paramagnetic and diamagnetic molecules and how you can tell? I would really appreciate some clarification.

I think the basic thing you need to know is that: if there's NO unpaired electrons in the molecule, then it is Diamagnetic and if there IS unpaired electrons it is Paramagnetic.
Diamagnetic = no unpaired electrons, and it isn't attracted to magnetic fields (repelled).
Paramagnetic = has unpaired electrons and it is attracted to magnetic fields.

Is that clearer? I hope that helped.

Yes, that is definitely helpful. Thanks!
