Chapter 4 (Question 61)

Postby Josh Clark 1J » Sat Nov 05, 2016 1:22 pm

4.61 Give the valence-shell electron configurations and bond orders for CO and CO+. Us e that information to predict which species has stronger bonds.

In the answer, CO has a valence-shell electron configuration of (σ2s)2(σ*2s)2(π2p)4(σ2p)22

Why would it not be (σ2s)2(σ*2s)2(π2p)4(σ2p)4?

I'm pretty sure that's a typo and the "22" should actually be "2"
