Pi bond "types" question

Postby Emmy Son 4f » Sat Dec 03, 2016 12:23 am

In lecture, professor said that there are 2 types when p orbitals overlap with another p orbital. What does he mean by this?

I meant:

Two p-orbitals can overlap end-to-end to form a sigma bond.
Two p-orbitals can overlap side-by-side to form a pi bond.
