Energy levels

Postby manasa933 » Tue Nov 28, 2017 10:06 pm

Why is the order of energy levels different in n2 from o2 and f2?

I don't quite understand whats being asked, but if you mean orbitals they are the same.
N = [He]2s2 2p3
O = [He]2s2 2p4
F = [He]2s2 2p5

First number is energy level and second is the number of electrons in that orbital

Hi!

The energy levels are based on the highest orbitals, the higher orbitals have more energy, and it can be determined by the order of the periodic table nitrogen then oxygen and then flourine. Hope this helps!
