Re: Bond Order
If a bond order is zero, that means that the molecule is too unstable and it will not exist.

Re: Bond Order
It simply means that there are no bonds produced in the molecule because there are an equal number of electrons in bonding and antibonding orbitals.

Re: Bond Order
if the bond order is zero then the two atoms are not bonded because bond order is a measurement of the number of electrons involved in a bond between two atoms

Re: Bond Order
Does that mean that the bond order is the number of electrons between two bonded atoms?

Re: Bond Order
If the bond order is zero then that means that the molecule is too unstable and therefore will not create a bond.

Re: Bond Order
When the bond order is zero, the molecule is too unstable and won't continue to exist.
Re: Bond Order
Random question but why does this whole section have an astric in front of the name, ( *Molecular Orbital Theory (Bond Order, Diamagnetism, Paramagnetism) does this mean we wont be tested on it and we should just know it.

Re: Bond Order
If bond order is zero then this means the molecule is too unstable. This means the molecule will cease to exist.
