Cisplatin Drug formation
Why is it that in the cisplatin chemotherapy drug, the guanine strand is the one affected by the lone pair Nitrogen and not the other DNA strands? What makes guanine susceptible to this phenomenon?

My best guess is that having two adjacent guanines allows the two nitrogens with the lone pairs to be the right distance for the cisplatin drug to form the coordinate covalent bond to it.

My best guess is that cisplatin can bind to the N7 of the guanine molecule.

I guess it has something to do with the structure of the guanine nitrogenous base, but I'm not certain and I don't want to confuse anyone. You could see the below link which describes the interaction of cisplatin with DNA, but I think it's hard to understand and well beyond the scope of our course.
