Cobalt vs. Cobaltate

Hi, Im doing some practice problems and noticing some answers write cobalt in the name and some use cobaltate. What is the difference here for both examples look similar to me. thanks.

Hi, cobaltate is used when the complex has a net negative charge. Cobalt is used when it has a neutral or positive charge.
