Cyano vs Cyanido

I've heard both of these and I'm not sure which is correct. I've also heard chloro and chlorido. Can someone help please? Thank you!

Both are acceptable. Cyano is just an older term.

As mentioned above, both are correct. If you choose not to use the naming from the textbook, go to the class website and you can find a list of the alternate accepted names.

My TA said both versions would be acceptable for the class (like on Test 4)
