Chemical Formula for a compound?

On question 3.25 for the homework, it asks: "Give the chemical formula of each compound for (Hydrogen Telluride). I thought the answer was H3Te but the answer in the book has H2Te, why is it H3 and not H2?

If tellurium gains two electrons it will have a filled octet and be relatively stable. In this manner, the anion would be relatively stable with a -2 charge. This corresponds to having two hydrogens attached to it.
