It is ethylenediammine. Which is basically two nitrogen atoms bonded together that can donate a pair of electrons to a metal

en stands for ethylenediamine! Note: this is a neutral ligand, meaning it provides no charge to the total complex. There is a list of various kinds of ligands in the 9C section of our textbook!

See "Naming Coordination Compounds" on Dr. Lavelle's website which gives all the neutral and anionic ligands. en is ethylenediamine, NH2CH2CH2NH2. Its two nitrogens have lone pairs which makes en a bidentate ligand.

I would try looking at the ligand sheets or quizlets to help with naming ligands! Found it super helpful!

"en" stands for the bidentate ligand ethylenediamine which has a chemical formula of NH2CH2CH2NH2

The en stands for ethylenediamine, its formula is NH2CH2CH2NH2. You can find this in chapter 9C of the textbook in table 9C.1. Hope this helps!
