General Rules and Exceptions to Naming Coordination Compound

Postby 704578485 » Mon Nov 16, 2015 7:53 pm

With Quiz #3 coming up I was looking over the course reader and the section on coordination compound naming rules and am very confused. I also google rules on naming coordination compounds and a lot of it is straightforward but there seems to be various exceptions for multiple different compounds, elements, scenarios, etc. I was just wondering exactly what we should study for naming coordination compounds? Also will we have to just convert names to molecular formulas or vice versa as well?

It is always best to study the materials specifically from this course in the course reader and the homework problems. There are a lot of examples online that are beyond the scope of this class.
