Given that if there is a .H2O at the end of a coordination compound, then you add hydrate to the end of the name, are there any other suffixes that we should be able to recognize and name? I don't remember many other similar cases used in examples in class.

Yes, exactly. If there is a multiplication dot applied to H2O, it will be a hydrate. Keep in mind it can also go by the name of monohydrate, dihydrate, trihydrate, and so on. Other suffixes you see will usually be associated with a metal or anion, like bromide or chloride.
