How do radicals effect structure?

Electrons really don't want to exist outside of their lone pairs, meaning that any radical is very unstable and likely will not stay the same for very long.

in an effort to complete their outer shell, radicals react quickly with other substances, potentially taking their electrons and they damage cells through a process called oxidation (oxidative stress)
