Homework 17.37 Part d

Postby Sarah Spalding 3E » Fri Nov 24, 2017 11:58 pm

Could someone help explain the solution to part d in 17.37? I understood the other parts of the question, but was confused when I saw that the solution (from the solution manual) for part d says that EDTA is hexadentate.

EDTA is said to be one of few ligands that are hexadentate on pg. 744 of the textbook, but it doesn't mention an explanation. I'm not sure if EDTA as hexadentate is just something we have to know.
