Ligands that replace H2O ligands

Postby akroberts » Sun Dec 02, 2018 11:41 pm

Why are NH3, K+CN-, and Na+Cl- the specific ligands that can replace H2O ligands?

Ligands that have a higher affinity to form a bond with the transition metal can replace H2O ligands because the H2O ligands do not bind as strongly.
