homework 9C7 7th edition

Can someone explain this question to me? why can't (c) be a chelating ligand?

My reasoning for this problem was that the angle between the two NH2 molecules in part C is too large for both molecules to bond simultaneously.

the way i think of it is as a vector, so look at the molecule that has its bonds pointing in the same direction, those are the best for bonding.
