The bracket signifies a coordination sphere.

Brackets are used when writing the formula for the coordination sphere, which includes the metal atom and the ligands attached to it.

Whatever is inside the brackets is directly bound to the transition metal and is in the coordination sphere. Hope this helps!

Anything that is outside the brackets is not bound to the central metal atom or ion.

If anything is outside the brackets it is not a part of the coordinate sphere (such as a hydrate of complex salt)
