Cisplatin is a chemotherapy drug that forms a coordination compound with DNA to stop cell division. In binding to DNA, cisplatin helps stop DNA replication.

Adding on, it is important to know that due to its structure with the two Cl on the same side, it is more efficient at stopping cell replication.

Basicallly, know that cis platinum is used as a chemotherapy drug to stop mitosis. It does this by replacing its two chlorines with two hydrogens, and then linking to two guanines. Because it is linked at two areas, it stops the two strands of dna from separating and keeps mitosis from happening, which stops the replication of cancerous cells.
