can a chelate be made up of bidentate ligands or is it only polydentate ligands?

A chelating ligand is any ligand that forms more than one bond with a central metal atom so bidentate ligands are included.

It also includes bidentate complexes, as chelating ligands refers to those that can make multiple (2 or more) bonds to the central metal atom.
