Ambidentate ligands are ones that are elements that possess the ability to bind to the central atom through the atoms of two different elements. For instance, NO2 is an example that can bind either at the N or the O atom.

some common ambidentate lingands are CN-, NO2-, and SCN-

hey, like the previous replies state, ambident ligands are ligands which can bind to the central atom within two places.
