Porphyrin ligand-tetradentate

Can someone please example the porphyrin ligand-tetradentate example from lecture with relation to heme complexes?

Here's what I gathered...
- it is an example of a cage-like molecule
- it is square planar
- Fe is bound to the porphyrin ligand to form a heme complex
- the heme complex plus a protein creates myoglobin (Fe binds to 1 O2)
- it plays a role in the transport of O2 in the muscle cells

The heme complex is created by the binding of the porphyrin tetra dentate ligand to an iron ion. When a protein is bound, this creates myoglobin which is responsible for transport of oxygen throughout the bloodstream. This happens when an O2 molecule binds to the iron. Carbon Monoxide poisoning happens when a CO molecule binds to the iron instead of the O2 molecule, and this is essentially suffocation at the molecular level. This would probably be a good concept to know.
