Co - VitB12
What is the effect that Co has on Vit B12? Is it within that vitamin or does it interact with it?

Re: Co - VitB12
Cobalt is an essential element for humans, and is found at the centre of vitamin B12. Even though the body contains only 2–5 mg of vitamin B12, its involvement in the production of red blood cells means it is vital to life.
Re: Co - VitB12
The Cobalt is within the molecule and is therefore part of the vitamin. The way it interacts with other molecules, i.e. how it manages its electron bonds and free elections make it unique and therefore vital to the human body.

Cobalt is actually the transition metal that forms the center of the coordination complex that Vitamin B12 is. It's a rather interesting vitamin, because we need such tiny tiny amounts of it, but a deficiency causes a host of nervous system issues.

Cobalt is found at the center of vitamin B12 and also a lot of other co-enzymes. Vitamin B12 is very important to the body for it assists in many functions such as in helping make DNA!

Cobalt is the transition metal in Vitamin B-12! I think we need to know it because of its biological importance and our necessity for it, but also because it's a common and well-known coordination complex.
