Why is it TRUE that if one starts with higher concentrations of reactants, the equilibrium concentrations of the products will be larger?

If K= Concentration of P/ Concentration of R, if the concentration of R is higher wouldn't it make the overall concentration of P smaller?

The reason why is because of how the chemical equilibria shift. An increase in reactants will cause a shift towards increased products in order to restore equilibrium. The inverse is also true; an increase in products will cause a shift towards increased amount of reactants.

because based on this equation: K= Concentration of P/ Concentration of R. Doesn't that mean if the concentration of R increases, the concentration of P will decrease in order to have the same equilibrium constant?
