Homework 11.25

Postby Alex McCorriston Dis 3A » Wed Nov 22, 2017 11:47 am

11.25
In a gas-phase equilibrium mixture of H2, I2, and HI at 500. K, [HI] = 2.21 X 10^-3 mol.L-1 and [I2] = 1.46 X 10^-3 mol.L-1. Given the value of the equilibrium constant in Table 11.2, calculate the equilibrium concentration of H2.

Are we expected to know this table for the upcoming tests?

Thanks!

I don't think we'd be expected to know the entire table for the test, I think whatever we need will be provided. Just as long as you know how to solve the problem using the table, I think you'll be okay.

You definitely should not have to memorize the table. All of the equations and constant values that we need for an exam will be given on the front page of the test. Just make sure you know how to utilize the information in the table!
