ICE Tables

Postby Tiffany_Cacy_3D » Fri Jan 11, 2019 11:42 am

In class the example we did for ice tables involved the equation H2o + ATP = ADP +P. When finding the solutions we found that the change in molarity for ATP was about -8.435 so in turn we added 8.435 to both ADP and P. Do we add the same amount to both because there is a 1-1 ratio between them or would the change in molarity stay the same regardless of the ratio between the products and reactants. If for instance the products had a 2-1 ratio would the answer still be the same? Hopefully this is clear enough to understand.

Yes that is right. You add x proportional to the coefficients in the equation.
