Why are solids and liquids not included in equilibrium?

Molar concentration of a pure substance (solid or liquid) does not change in a reaction, so solids and liquids are not included in the K expression

Solids and liquids are pure substances, so their concentrations do not change during the duration of the reaction,. Therefore solids and liquids are negligible when calculating Kc, Kp, and Q since they won't have any influence on the final answer to the equilibrium problems.

Molarity of a solid and liquid cannot change during the course of a reaction so there is no need to include them when finding K.

The nature of pure solids and liquids further can be extended to pure, inert gases (group VIII). Inert gas can be added to an equilibrium mixture at a constant volume to increase the pressure of the mixture; however there will be no change in equilibrium as the amount of neither reactant nor product is affected.
