Re: Equilibrium constant
Kc is just referring to calculating the eq of given concentrations and Kp refers to calculating the eq of given pressures.

Re: Equilibrium constant
Technically, it affects both since pressure and concentration are related by PV=nRT --> P=(concentration)RT <--> concentration=P/RT
But yes Kp is pressure and Kc is concentration
But yes Kp is pressure and Kc is concentration
Re: Equilibrium constant
Kp is dealing with the pressure not essentially the concentration like Kc is

Re: Equilibrium constant
Just as a note Kp can only be used when talking about gases. Not sure if that helps. The partial pressure or concentration can be used depending on which is given.

Re: Equilibrium constant
Kp and Kc both give the equilibrium constant, but Kp is for partial pressure and Kc is for concentration.

Re: Equilibrium constant
Partial pressures of the reactant and products affect Kp, not Kc. Changing the pressure by reducing the volume can affect both Kp and Kc.
