### 7th Edition Question 6A.21

The value of $K_{w}$ for water at body temperature (37 degrees Celsius) is $2.1x10^{-14}$. How would you calculate the concentration of the hydronium ion and the hydroxide ion given only this information? Would you assume that the concentration of the hydronium ion is equivalent to the concentration to the hydroxide ion?

Yes, you would assume that the concentration of the hydronium ions equals that of hydroxide ions.
