### Endothermic Reaction

If a reaction is endothermic and you added heat, would the Kw be bigger or smaller and why? I'm a bit confused.

If a reaction is endothermic, then heat is absorbed in the reaction. So if there is an increase in the temperature, the reaction will shift towards the products. If there is an increase in products, then the Kc value will increase.

So I'm assuming you mean just K when you mention Kw. Since endothermic reactions require heat, adding heat will shift the reaction to the products. K will change because thermodynamics (we'll learn this later).

That is kinda confusing, huh. Normally Kw will not change unless temperature changes, so in the case of 25 degrees C Kw is 1.00 x 10^-14 but when it is 50 degrees C Kw is 5.48 x 10^-14. I'm not sure about thinking about Kw in terms of adding heat an the reaction being endothermic or not, but for sure Kw will change when the temperature around it changes.

I think K would decrease since in an endothermic reaction is like having heat as a reactant but it will push the reaction forward so i'm not totally sure.
