ATP hydrolysis

Postby Jasmin Argueta 1K » Thu Jan 17, 2019 9:19 pm

During lecture we learned that ATP hydrolysis goes in the forward direction, although how is this possible If the physiological ATP concentration is 8.435x10^-3. Isn't the rule that if K<10^-3 then equilibrium lies to the left.

The rule about direction, as far as I remember, is when the Kq is compared to Kc. The 10^-3 rule is about strong acids/ bases and disassociation.
